So...the adventure all begins in Nashville, TN! Of course I was running late to the airport, but I made it and still had time to stop at the airport to pick up an AMAZING package from Jonathan! Adam dropped me off and I said goodbye to Music City. My flight from Nashville to Atlanta was interesting...I sat in the last row, and the guy next to me KNEW WHO I WAS! He asked if I worked at the Starbux on Church st, which I do, and we had a great conversation the whole way to Atlanta. I managed to get free Sounds tickets out of the deal too which is cool! From Atlanta I flew to Paris! While waiting for my plane, I was able to help out a lady who only spoke french and I got to translate for her and tell her what they were saying over the speaker. The flight to Paris was SOOOOO long...8 1/2 hours!!!! But I sat next to a sweet Indian lady named Lolita; we spoke about 4 words of each other's languages, but she told me all about her family and we tried to communicate, but most of the time I tried to sleep. We got in late to Paris, and I ALMOST missed my connecting flight. Fortunately, I quickly made friends with Alexander, a very friendly Parisian boy about my age! He somehow managed to get me through 4 different security points and Customs within about 20 minutes, and then to the other side of the airport. I was so lucky, because I NEVER would have made it!
Anyways, I got into Valencia and Natalie was waiting. It was SO great seeing her!!!! However, I wasn't very happy to find out that my bags were still in Paris. Really though, how hard is your job, airport people?!?! lol. But that was okay, I was just SOOO tired, so we left Valencia and took the Metro to the train station, and then took a train to Castellon where Natalie has been going to school all semester. Castellon is BEAUTIFUL!!! And the weather was perfect! See, Castellon is sort of like a small town, like Murfreesboro and Valencia is like Nashville. When we got to Castellon, Natalie said "Oh don't worry, I live just around the corner"....yeah, 3 miles later we got to her little apartment. This semeseter she stayed with 3 spanish students, it was VERY interesting!!!! So, got there and I fell asleep within 10 minutes, and slept for 6 hours lol. The time difference of 7 hours from Nashville is VERY hard to get used to!!!
so then I woke up and we went to dinner at the apartment of one of Natalie's friends, Julia. She is American too, but also an Erasmus (That's what they call study abroad students all over europe). It was 10pm, but we went and made dinner with Julia and her friend Raquel was there too. I guess in Spain it's normal to START making dinner at 10pm. Crazy lol. After that, we went and met up with a few of the other American students, Clint, Ben, and Jodi. We all went to a local bar called Bar Terra, which looks like its literally inside the earth, and we got to meet a large group of the other Erasmus. After, we left and went back to Tallie's "pisa", our apartment, and totally crashed.
Write more tomorrow... :) Goodnight! (ps it's already the night of the 19th, it took me close to 20 hours to get into Spain, so yeah its like a whole day later!)
