Today was surprisingly productive!
We started off our morning with a croque-monsieur from our little bakery, so far the best food in Paris! We went to our little grocery store and bought food for our picnic, and then managed to wander all over Paris (for the 2nd day in a row, lol). We were trying to find some stupid electronic store called FNAC so that I could buy a camera. When we finally found it, we spent like 30 minutes trying to figure out what camera I wanted and trying to understand the return policy...in French!!! And then we didn't even end up buying one, ridiculous! The only good thing that came out of our scavenger hunt for the store was our discovery of Bastille (well, what we think was Bastille). Neither of us knew really what Bastille looked like, we just knew it was like a prison, and the thing we saw was just like this tall monument. Yet another Parisian let down lol. But at least we can say we saw it!!!
We walked for about 800 miles (oh, I mean 1,000,000 kilometers) towards the direction we thought the Eiffel Tower was. We got to the end of road, and we finally found it! Keep in mind that we still don't have a camera, so we have no pictures of us with the Eiffel tower, only videos! But its cool. It was probably the coolest thing we've seen in Paris so far!
After that we stopped at McDonalds for some Espresso, and they have the COOLEST order things there! See, McDonalds is much different in Europe. It's much nicer, and considered more of a restaurant than a fast food place. But anyways, to order, since it was so busy, they have these cool little stations set up when you walk in and its sort of like a sonic, but its a computer touch screen and you just choose what you want (With pictures and your choice of language) and then you put your credit card in and it gives you a number, and you go to the counter once they call your number. I really like this system, it completely eliminates all unnecessary awkward human interactions lol.
Finally, we arrived at our romantic destination....Jardin du Luxembourg. OMG it was BEAUTIFUL! it's this gorgeous public park, and its HUGE!!!! we found the spot where everyone was hanging out (we were the only non-couple there!!!), but we sat down in all of the entangled-lovers and enjoyed our picnic of wine, cheese, and bread!!!! VERY ROMANTIC indeed; we decided that next time, when we return with our rich husbands, we mo def want to go back there.
We stopped by a super expensive internet cafe, and then went back to Adil's apartment where we hung out and talked for a bit, and now we're going to bed (after our very busy day lol)
Au revoir!
