Well, the day didn't really start off on a good foot.....we woke up way later than we had planned, and then I somehow managed to break Adil's shower head. Yeah, I turned the water on and it exploded into a million pieces....that was an awkward moment for sure. So yeah, being our lazy selves, we left his apartment at 1pm.... We took a metro to L'arc to Triumph, and I'll be honest, we were sort of disappointed!!!! Like, it was cool, but we were expecting something way bigger. But it was still neat to see. While we were exploring, we met this guy Navid from Canada, and he invited us to go out with him tonight. Always good to make friends!!
We continued to walk down Champs-Elysees and admired all of the FABULOUS stores and restaurants and everything....IT WAS SO HARD TO NOT GO SHOPPING! not to mention the fact that our adventure began on the day that European sales begin (I guess in Europe stores all have only 2 sales a year, and its all at the same time, mandated by the government.) We would choose the 3 weeks out of the year to travel with a million sales and NO SHOPPING MONEY! its cool though.....
Anyways, we got the garden right before the Louvre and Natalie's camera broke!!! SO....we are officially camera-less. We messed around with it for a while, but could only manage to make the video part work. So, we just took a lot of videos today....sweet, huh? We walked by the Louvre, decided not to go in cause we don't really like museums....and then hopped a metro to the nearest Starbucks! I was not nearly as impressed as the one in Spain. They use totally different milk which kinda screwed up my drink, and Natalie's coffee was cold. Then, we ended up chatting with the girl at the register for a few minutes and when we were done this REALLY rude guy in line clapped for us and bowed. So we sat outside and looked up mean names to call him in French lol.
We went to my first internet cafe, SUPER expensive, but it was worth it. I'm already having facebook withdrawals lol. Then we went to this kebab place (Tallie keeps talking bout how good they are, but we weren't very pleased with this kebab shop). Then we took the MOST CROWDED METRO RIDE EVER back towards Adil's apt. OMG I really thought I was gonna die, or punch somebody for standing that close to me. Just awkward, and it smelled horrible!!! (as does the rest of Paris) but we survived!!! lol
Tonight was really fun! We went with Adil to Sacre Couer where we had a (not so) romantic evening watching the sunset over Paris with a loaf of bread, some cheese, and a bottle of wine! We got to see this pretty cool fire guy perform some tricks, too!
We went back to his apartment, and his roomie had finally managed to fix the front door that I broke this morning (oops).... We hung out with Adil and his roomie Anim, and his gf Alex and just talked about....IDK....French stuff?
Off to bed to give Paris another try tomorrow!
