Hey there everyone,
Have'nt updated for a while as we've basically just been hanging around Pai. However we have done some pretty cool stuf! Pai is surronded by hot springs and water falls, oh and jungle. The only way to see it really is to rent some bike's or treak into the mountain to see it. So a couple of night ago 6 of us froom the Unicorn house trecked into the jungle to spend the night.
It started with a 3 hour treck into the heart of the jungle, and this was no beginers trek. We had to climb rock face's and wade though river's. We arrived at the wooden shelter we had too put a tarpuling over it to make a roof, then a mosi net to sleep under, and finally we made a fire. After a swim in the water fall we ate some rice, which we cooked in Bamboo that we cut from the jungle half filled with rice and half filled with water. After about 40 mins on a fire fresh rice ready to eat. We spent the night in the jungle getting tanked up on local wiskey. Then tried to sleep, now i don't know if anybody raeding this has slept in the jungle but belive me it gets very cold and very dark. Not ideal to sleep in. Little need to saytat after the walk back i crashed out most of the rest of the day.
The following day we had recovered, so we went and rented some bikes and headed off into the mountain. We went to a waterfall now i can't remeber the name of it but check out the photo's there cool. Really to be honest since we have hired the bike's that's pretty much what we've been upto. Today we visited another waterfall, and the Pai Canyon. Pan Bok water fall that we went to was probally the best one that we have been to so far. It's more like a few water falls on one strech of river, with a 150 meter high water fall at the begining. There was a bridge crossing the river so that you could get to the frist water fall, which really did'nt say much for Thai construction. Made of Bamboo and about 20 meters of the floor it twisted it's way acrossed the river, although it had no hand holds so you made sure that you took your time.
We oved on to the Pai Canyon after. The Canyon give's you an amazing panoramic view off the Pai area, please please check out the photo's there give you some idea of the veiws. There was a very narrow path alone the ridge of the Canyon that we walked along. It was pretty scary to walk along as there was what seamed to be a bottoless drop to each side of you if you made a mistake, but belive the veiw was so worth it.
When we first arrived at the Unicorn house there where a whole load of people, but now our numbers are slowly ebbing away and were only left with about 9 or so. It's a real shame to see some of these people leave as thay made us so welcome, but we all have to leave sometime. Unfortuately our time here is running out as well and we will be leaving on wednesday, heading back to Chaing Mai. It look s like i'll be playing a gig in one of the local bars here on tuesday, have to leave my mark in some way. So it will be a little while again before i update this site. Enjoy the photo's take care Miss you all Love and light C
