The last week has been rather quit I have studied my Spanish and in the evenings I have been busy reading my guidebook to get some idea about what I will do when my language course finishes in two weeks. Friday I went to the cooking lessons and cooking lessons again followed by a salsa lesson. The salsa went better than last time but I still need to practice more before I can do much on a Peruvian dance floor. After the salsa lesson we went out again, but everyone were a bit tired so we only got a bit of sangria and I was home early at 1 a.m. I the weekend I meet up with Lara again and two of the Danish volunteers from her organization and we went to explore some of the shopping possibilities in the centre of Lima but I ended up not buying anything because I was mostly interested in the very typical Peruvian stuff and that should be cheaper in the other cities I go through. Then I went with the Danes and Lara to the poor area of Villa El Salvador south of Lima. It was quite a difference to Miraflores, most of the houses were just raw bricks and steel roofs but it was still better than the slums of India. The family where Lara lived were very kind and lent me a room so that I could stay there for the night. Today Lara and I spent the morning planning the activities for the next two weekends and the afternoon going to a big temple ruin, called Pachacamac, a bit south of Lima. It was a surprisingly big complex but it had apparently also been one of the important religious sites of the coastal regions for 900 years and the seat of an important oracle up until the arrival of the Spaniards. We decided that next weekend we will go diving at a cite 70 km south of Lima and in two weeks we will go Dolphin watching and swimming with sea-lions. So I am really excited about that.
