G'day mates, we are in Alice Springs at the moment waiting to start our trip to Ayres Rock and on up to Darwin for the next week. Cant actually believe that we are in the middle of Australia. It was yet another early start for us, we got picked up at 5am ( we are so over getting up so so early) by our tour guide and met the rest of the group. We were travelling further west today to our first stop Kings Canyon, were we saw the garden of Eden, which was amazing. Although we went for a huge hike in the boiling heat it was well worth it, the views were amazing, the pictures really dont do it justice. Then we headed to out camp ( near Ayres Rock) for the night. Here we all settled into our swags (outdoor beds) around the campfire and it was absolutely freezzzing! It was so cold Kate wanted to get in the shower at 3am in the morning to warm up - think she would have died of hypothermia! she ended up getting lost in the dark for an hour looking for the toilets he he he! We cant believe that it actually gets this cold in OZ (Its inus degegrees)
