We had an amazing last few days on Langkawi enjoying a boat trip to some remote islands and watching sea eagles feed on large schools of fish! After one last trip to the night market we jumped on a ferry on 18th and made the 3 hour trip to Penang.
Unfortunately Sarah has picked up another infection and so we haven't really been up to much since we got here as we wait for her to recover, which she is slowly but surely! We have managed to get to the local street food market and sample some of the delicious food Penang has on offer. The island has a large Chinese and Indian population as well as the native Malays so the food is an incredible fusion of the 3. Penang has been voted by various magazines etc as THE place to visit if you are into your food. I certainly have been trying everything on offer including fried oysters, roast duck, the local curries and in innumerable amounts of small fried things most of which we don't have a clue what they are but taste delicious!
Sarah was feeling a bit better this afternoon so we managed to get out and have a walk around Chinatown and little India, looking at all the street art that Penang is also quite famous for (Facebook album to follow shortly).
Due to this infection we are not really sure of our movements over the next week or so as we had planned to go trekking but obviously this isn't a good idea/Sarah wouldn't be able to walk for long so we have to decide what to do. Maybe stay here or maybe head to Kuala Lumpar and then in a week make our way back up North again to the rainforest. We will keep you posted! The most important thing is that Sarah gets over the infection which she is doing slowly!
