Last full day of the holidays so time for one last road trip. This time a hours drive east out to Healsville animal sanctuary. The boys slept on the way there, so we enjoyed a peaceful drive through the Yarra valley, vineyards and mountains made some lovely scenery for the drive out.
The sanctuary was really quiet so we were able to see lots! Koalas, kangaroos, platypus, wombat, dingos, Tasmanian devil were the main highlights. Got really close up to a lot of them, so definitely worth the drive! Some good play areas along the way kept the boys occupied and kept their attention. Gethin also enjoyed the parrot house, he was feeding nuts and nectar to parrots and cocatues, one even landed on his finger, great experience!
It was obviously a busier day than the staff had anticipated as when we wentformlinxj they had sold out! So instead we drove into Healsville village and het some lunch (and cakes)! Back to middle park where we had bought stuff to make a bbq, but as it was nearly subset we decided to take a walk along at Kilda pier so see if we could see the penguins and water rats. After a slights starting delay we eventually got to see both before heading back for the BBQ!
