Well we survived the long day of travelling. Just as we were about to board the plane we were moved to the second last row on the plane, that meant 1st on but last off!!!
The flight itself was pretty good til landing. Inflight entertainment was good with some great movies to watch. I managed to break my headphones coz I was up and down like a yoyo getting stuff out of the bags for the boys.... (Mainly Jakey) so I had to settle for virgins own which weren't as good. The iPads were a god send, used by the boys for the whole flight..
The last 30 minutes of the flight was really rough with very bad turbulence, even the air hostess was scared. Probably the roughest landing I've ever experienced.
Disembarking was slow. The 450 passengers didn't see the urgency to get off quickly to best the other virgin 747 that landed at the same time. Luckily we beat them and only spent an hour queuing to clear customs.
Tired and now a little stressed, we tried to negotiate our way across 2 terminal buildings via monorail, several escalators and dodging people in as much as a hurry as us to get to the rental garage to pick our jeep up. Still find it strange that the keys are in the doors and you just pick your own vehicle and drive off. I must say, that even at this time off the day both Lewis and Jake have behaved amazingly well. So, we picked a Chevrolet jeep.... I like.... and set off for Star Island. Arriving at 8pm local time (1am bst) we made our way up to our apartment. Its huge!!! The boys have their very own east wing with their own living room, bedroom and even a 2nd kitchen. 1st impressions are pretty good. Very tired by now we unpacked and ordered domino pizza before eventually getting boys to bed at 10pm (3am back home).
