Animal Kingdom today. Well a great start to the day, a toll violation for driving through a toll without stopping. What can I say but the co driver, aka Julie told me it was ok to drive on coz the car in front drove through without stopping, and then she said I was driving too fast. Me, drive too fast??? Well, what can I say. I hold my hands up. Looks like I'll have a fine to pay at some point.
Arrived at a cloudy Animal Kingdom, but boy was the humidity high. We couldn't stop sweating. So, 1st stop was to get fast pass for Expedition Everest. Next we set off on an incredible adventure into the wilds of the Kilimanjaro safari. Set in 110 acres of African style savanna, it really is a great location to see lots of different animals.
We loved the safari, lots of the big animals were out. The crocodiles were sun bathing, the elephants were taking a dip in the pool to cool down, the hippos were out for a swim, and even the giraffe made an appearance.
So, back to Everest with our fast passes and both Lewis and Jake were worried that this ride would scare the pants off them. They both survived it and came off excited and wanted to ride it again. Another fast pass for the Kali river rapids, then lunch, then a quick walk over to Dinosaur.
Again, Lewis and Jake were worried about riding on Dinosaur. Lewis apparently kept his eyes closed for most of it but seemed to recall most of the action.
Back to Kali river rapids to use our fast pass and this ride was just what we needed to cool down in the 100 degree heat. Julie and Lewis got soaked to the skin, Jake a little less, and to my disappointment I only got slightly wet. Could believe the amount of people wearing ponchos and changing into swimwear. I thought the whole point of water rides were to get wet!!!!
Lewis was starting to tire now so we decided to head to the festival of the lion king before heading home.
This was our 1st show and what a great 1 to start with. The show is amazing with its stunning costumes, amazing characters and fantastic songs. Just as the show was finishing, Lewis said he was feeling low so we stayed back for a couple of minutes and gave him a mini can of Pepsi and a cereal bar. As soon as we set off we knew he still was right as he seemed a little confused and was getting paler. So, we sat him down and quickly bought some cookies and fanta. After about 20 minutes he felt better and we headed for the tram back to the car park. That was our 1st big hypo of the holiday and I think we dealt with it with very little fuss. Must be getting pros at it now!!!
By the time we got back to the apartment, Lewis was running round hyper which caused Jake to do the same. It was quite funning watching them as they were full of sugar and acting crazy. The joys of diabetes!!!
Time for a cool down in the pool. Just what we needed. The boys were desperate to stay in the pool til it got dark, but another storm promptly arrived and not even I'm mad enough to stay in the water when lightening is about. So, back to the apartment to chill and watch some crazy American TV.
