Epcot today. Fairly cloudy but we weren't gonna get caught out this time so we put plenty of sun tan lotion on.
It didn't look as busy as some of the other parks we'd been to but we thought it wise to head straight to Test Track for a fast past. Just as well as the normal line was 100 minute waiting time. So fast pass acquired quick dash back to Spaceship Earth where the waiting time was only 15 minutes. Lewis was really interested in this ride, slowly travelling through time on a rollercoaster from cavemen, the ancient Greeks, Romans right through to modern day history. The next area of Spaceship Earth is a virtual play area for all ages. Lewis and Jake both loved playing on the racing games, rebuilding the human body and testing their memories.
On to Soarin now, no fast here as we'd have to come back 6 hours later, so we had to wait in line for 80 minutes. At least there are large interactive screens to play group games on. Only thing is, nobody wanted to play so we were the only ones waving our arms around like nutters trying to get birds to fly and trying to squat blobs on the screen.
Soarin didn't disappoint. The boys loved this simulator, raising up off the ground and flying over natural vistas and cities such as San Francisco.
Off to lunch now and we headed to the United Kingdom section of Epcot for fish and chips at the Yorkshire chip shop, formerly Harry Ramsdens. Right on cue, it started raining. Typical UK weather!
The guy who took our order was from Scotland, and as I was wearing my Carlisle top he politely asked how they'd got on for their 1st game of the season. Lost 5-1 at home I said. He was a Rangers fan and was equally as disappointed as I was as they'd lost to what he described as "overweight, beer bellied part timers on £30 a week". Football, what can I say!
Fish and chips were "decent" as Lewis described them. Off to Test Track to use our fast passes. Normal wait time was now 120 minutes so luckily we just breezed past that long line. Inside we had to deign our own cars on screens. I left mine up to Lewis and Julie helped Jake with his. Then it was on to the ride to see who's car would win. After accelerating hard, braking hard and then flat out at 60mph for about 500 meters it turned out Jake's car was the best. Well done Jake and Julie!
Next stop was Mission Space. We'd nether been on this ride so we didn't know what to expect, but Wow was it good! We chose the wild ride which was to launch in to space and land on Mars. I was the pilot, Jake was the navigator, Lewis was the commander and Julie was the engineer. We all sat in our positions not knowing what to expect next. We tilted backwards facing upwards, blast off! The G force was incredibly real on our faces. Each of us had a job to do. Raising shields, firing rockets for 1st then 2nd stage separation and landing. I think we'd all agree that this was the best ride off the day.
Back to Club Cool for the 3rd time for endless amounts of free drink from around the world. And yes Greg and Hayley, we did try the Beverley....disgusting!!!!!
Back to the apartment for takeaway pizza from Cici's and chilling for a couple of hours before heading back to Epcot for the firework display. What a display it was too with stunning fireworks, lasers and flames. I even recognised the song Greg and Hayley had for their 1st dance :)
What a great day, probably the best so far.
