Four weeks to go until I fly off to the other side of the world. 28 days. 672 hours. Eeep! I've been boring the socks off friends and family with how many days it is until I fly to the UK. To be honest - I'm starting to bore myself with the constant counting down. I think I've reached an anticipation overload, and I'm now just floating in an ether of undecided ambivalence. Don't get me wrong - I'm still excited! I just wish the 6th of June would hurry up and get here!
But then again, there's still so much to do before we fly! I've got the big things sorted - flights (check); hotels booked (check); rental car booked (check); practice-run-of-bag-packing-to-make-sure-I've-thought-of-everything-I-might-need-and-to-work-out-what-I-still-have-to-buy-and-to-make-a-bag-packing-checklist (check). Some people might consider that overkill - I prefer to think of it as being organised...
Seriously, the only real big thing left to do now is to get my money sorted. I've converted most of our spending money using the Air NZ OneSmart card, but recently the exchange rate has tumbled. That's left me scrambling to convert the last of my money as fast as I can earn it, before the exchange rate returns to historical levels around 33p. I think it's incredibly inconsiderate of the international economy to affect my fiscal plans in this way (I'm looking at you, Greece!) Alas, there's not much I can do about that, though. I just have to grin and bear it (well, bear it at least).
