Is it really over? Thats what I'm thinking after waving the last campers goodbye, after having our staff meal at Applebee's and our last night together as a staff... And after 7 weeks of being together - 24/7 - its a sombering experience watching your friends leave one by one to go home.
So... Adventure camp... well first of all the kids are a lot bigger. And they can actually catch balls, have common sense and the ability to string some sentences into a conversation! The whole session was great: from my climbing sessions, the colour wars and just interacting with some very interesting kids - many of whom had their homes destroyed by Sandy and lost loved ones. But now its all finished! :(
Yesterday we were watching some slides of photos from the last 5 weeks and it made me remember all the fun times at Camp - and the fact that if I wasnt here, I would be at home, working full time :(
It makes me thankful that I am here, and have experienced so many awesome things...
Today we spent the day in a friends back garden, with pool, yard and BBQ - it was amazing just to be relaxing with peers for a change! Afterwards we went to Port Jeff and had Icecream, it was a beautiful place and some pictures should be up soon - at least on Facebook.
So what am I going to do now!?
Well starting Sunday we have MDA week at Camp (Muscular Distripothyyyweee thingy association) in which I am not actually a counsellor. Instead we are starting to clean up the Camp as this is the last week for the summer, paint stuff, clean stuff, paint more stuff and clean more stuff. At least this week we have evenings off which should be fun!
Anyway Im tired - goodnight x
