After a 13 hour trip to Chicago we've made it to our hotel! And wow, what a difficult trip! We arrived at the bus terminal in Nashville and couldn't get our bags tagged in time for the bus to leave because a... Stupid (to put it nicely) lady spent 40mins talking to one couple. Then that same lady tried to charge us $100 to get the next bus! So after much... Deliberation... We got a free ticket on the next bus which was five hours later - fun times!
That said Nashville was an absolutely amazing experience. We arrived after a 17hour trip to be greeted by Matt's aunt Maureen. She is literally the most generous woman I have ever met and treated us to Cracker Barrel, a tennessee volunteers t-shirt and a swim in the pool! In fact we ate out practically the whole weekend and she paid the bill on everything. Not only that but I had a double bed for the first time!!! Such a great few days...
The first of our two nights we went to the bluebird cafe and saw an amazing folk band; they had a really cool set up in the middle of the cafe which was packed out. The second evening we spent shopping and walking around the different bars sampling the different music. At one bar there were three amazingly talented girls playing contemporary country music who even invited me up to play some John Mayer! Was pretty psyched after that!
So yer Nashville was awesome, the hottest state I've been in yet but awesome! And now we're in Chicago about to go out and see the sites!!!
