Day 2 arrived at a much more reasonable hour this morning, which is probably a result of being so exhausted yesterday, and the trucks rumbling past on the highway last night. We went to bed early, but it was difficult to get to sleep, and as a result, we slept in until... wait for it... right through to 7am!! Woohooo!! Holiday sleep-ins, I love em... Not to worry, we'll get used to all the noises, and it won't be an issue. The boys slept right through, and woke eager for another day. We have a lazy day planned, with a morning visit to the shops (Dylan has money and it's burning a hole in his pocket), a movie before lunch (Mirror, mirror, turned out to be excellent, and highly recommended for littlies) and a visit to the Old Gaol in the afternoon. We figured that if we couldn't leave the kids there, we'd at least scare the crap out of them and get them to behave for the rest of the trip. It really is a brilliant museum, and it puts things into a totally different reality when you're walking around a property where people did live and die in miserable conditions. 8 people were executed in Dubbo gaol, and the gallows are still here. The solitary confinement cell is terrifying, Dylan wouldn't go anywhere near it, and I didn't want to stay for long either. Jeremy put on a brave face, but tripped himself up in my feet, getting out when I turned to leave... It's a terriffic display, and well worth the visit. After the gaol, we returned to the park for a very late lunch and a relaxing afternoon. The boys had a swim while Jo had a nanna nap, and Dylan spent the rest of the afternoon building his new lego kit. I wanted to buy an adult scooter (read bigger wheels and handle bars), but I couldn't find one, so I did a couple of laps on Jeremy's scooter, and now I've gone and over exerted myself... The weather has been perfect, and we're back to shorts and tee shirts, so we hope that continues to hold. Tomorrow is a zoo day, we're thinking of hiring push bikes, and I've managed to convince Dylan we can ride them through the cheetah enclosure, but we need to go fast... very fast... He was then totally unimpressed when I told Jeremy we don't have to be able to ride faster than the cheetahs, we just have to be able to ride faster than Dylan... Hahaha. No, not funny mum says...

We also went to see a movie yesterday called Mirror Mirror, it was awesome, I'de happily watch it again :)
Leanne Jarvis Hi Dyl, it's Aunty Min. All you need to do is 'be smart'. Keep up with Dad, push a stick through the spokes of his back wheel, he'll fall off & you ride off safely!!! He will then 'distract' the cheetah's. Unless you're on a Toyota pushbike & then you'd never need to worry. Love you all, have a ball. Mwah
Michelle Barrois Dubbo Goal is very interesting and scary :( When we were there in 2006 great bakery near the railway crossing/station not sure if still there .
