Provence 2013
Old Roman ruins of Glanum dating from approx 6 century BC - similar to Pompeii. Old city which was abandoned then later become re-established nearby as Saint Remy de Provence.
Not as well preserved as Pompeii but then it wasn't buried under ash and lava for 1700 years.
Nothing much has changed in over 2000 years. There is evidence of houses with kitchens, bedrooms, living areas. Shops (market). Public areas for bathing, religion and public ceremonies.
It was majorly hot out there today BTW - sweltering at 93F. Carol
