When we were here in 2004 he was only about 21 with very boyish looks. He held the jersey for about 10 days fighting to keep it from Lance for 2 days through the mountains. Held it by mere seconds the second day. On that day we were watching the later part of the Stage with a group of Americans. One of the women dubbed him 'Baby Face'. That has been our nickname for him ever since.

Very much a crowd favorite.

Missed the opportunity of photographing Cadel but noted that he was loudly applauded by the French.
