Planned to drive out to Landsburg and Augsburg this morning, but b/c of the fog yesterday, we decided to return to the castles for a couple of hours. Reason being, we didn't get to see Neuschwanstein from Mary's brigde. Yes, we are crazy, we paid another €5 for parking, and another €5 for a round trip bus ride to the bridge. But we figured, we made it all the way to Germany, we might as well see the view! Really thankful that for how our timing worked out! Since it was a sunny day, many people came out to see tour the castles. We didn't have to worry about lines or crowds or tour times b/c we had done it all the day before! It was a clear day, and when we got dropped off at Mary's bridge, we had a brilliant view of Neuschwanstein. We exchanged photo-taking duties with a Korean couple who were there for their 30th anniversary! Off the other side of the bridge, Pete hiked up a part of the hill to get an even better view, but b/c it was quite unformed and steep, and b/c I had the tri-pod, I waited anxiously for him at the base of the bridge. Satisfied with our pictures, we bussed back down to the ticket area and headed out of the very crowded crowded area.
We headed out to Wieskirche, which was a Rocco styled church built by the Zimmermann brothers, apparently b/c the wooden carving of Christ shed real tears. Anyway, the church was very Baroque and was in the middle of a big meadow where there were horses and chickens!
