P&J's Travels
Bayeux: Pete drove like the wind to Bayeux, and got us here by 4 pm. Then, because the sights we were scheduled to see this afternoon closed at 6 pm, we champed it. First, we tentatively parked in a parking lot that may or may not have been free. Then we walked to the Bayeux Tapestry and saw the impressive 70 m long hand-stitched linen tapestry which told the story of Battle of Hastings complete with audioguide. Then with 45 minutes left before closing, we high tailed it over to the Cathedral. Pete was very glad to use his camera on all the stained glass and high ceilings.
We checked into Le Bayeux, our 55 euro hotel (score!) and rested for a bit before having dinner at La Fringale. See pictures of our delicious 3-course meals.
