Bayuex: Slept in this morning until 8 am and took our time getting to La Reine Mathilde Patisserie. Unfortunately, it wasn't opened at 9:15 - huh? What time do people go to work on Monday morning? Stopped by a local bakery and bought some pastries for breakfast, but on the way out, saw some fresh mini quiches, so bought those too!
Loaded the car up and headed over to the Battle of Normandy Memorial Museum. Saw a good film about the battle of Normandy and the Allied beach landings. Walked through the the exhibit in an hour and stopped by the British Military Cemetery.
Set off for Mont St Michel, but not before getting a tad lost in the roundabouts and experiencing our first gas fill up. We stopped by the Esso just outside of Bayeux and when we pulled up to pump gas, realized that we didn't know how to open the fuel door on the car! The lady behind us saw we were having problems and offered to help us. So we had the manual out and 4 people trying to find the knob, button, pull or switch to get the door opened. Finally, Pete found it. Then, the machine's card reader wasn't working, but since we thought it was our foreign card, we had to ask the same lady and her husband for help again! LOL. Pete offered to pay her cash if she used her card for our gas, but it turned out that the machine was busted, so we moved over to the next pump.
Now we're on our way.
