After the last post we decided to concentrate on going Kayaking (Matthew helped with the spelling on Kayak as he knew it was a Pallandrome - too smart for his own good sometimes!)
So we went for a lovely half day paddle down the longest river in New Zealand, stopping for the obligatory hot spring bathe along the way. I will upload the photos when we find a cafe with a USB access available. Needless to say Luca said he didn't want to do it and within five minutes was absolutely loving it. The guide commented that he was a natural and he wants to go again asap.
On Tuesday we drove South again, past some Volcanos and through the desert to end up on the West coast about 30 miles North of Wellington. We parked the CamperVan in a nice but quiet park near the beach and had a great Indian meal at the local restaurant.
I had a "RV" moment when I tried to do a U turn on a quiet main road at a set of traffic lights before realising that I was driving the tank and proceeded to attempt a 53 point turn...and managing to stall it broad side to the building traffic. I was waiting for the police to show up at any moment (again) to clear the blockage.
On Wednesday 28th Feb, for Carmela's Birthday, she was treated her to a nice cruise across the Cook Straight from Wellington to Picton in South Island, all curtesey of the Interislander Ferry Company. That is where we are now; Picton. Will be heading East along the Coast tthrough Blenheim and on to do some whale watching further down the coast.
Thanks for the messages... we can check them on my PDA from bed each day
