Hi from Cambodia!
Currently in Phnom Penh visiting the 'Killing Fields' and other various sights Cambodia's capital has to offer. Feeling a bit windswept and very dusty after a day spent whizzing to and from everything in a tuk-tuk. First impressions of Cambodia are that it is much poorer than everywhere else we have been, but with massive inequalities in wealth. For example you see some man begging on the street with one leg, then a Hummer will drive past! The killing fields was very sad today - where Pol Pot carried out his genocidal regime, worth seeing though. We've put some more photos on that brings everyone bang up to date, including elephant riding in Luang Prabang, our boat trip to Halong Bay, Vietnam, with Peder jumping off the boat, chilling out in the oldy worldy town of Hoi An and the madness of Ho Chi Minh City.
By this stage our ears our full of the following phrases: "Do you want a tuk-tuk/cyclo/motorcycle," "do you want a massage" (normally aimed at Pete!), "madam you buy" followed by someone hanging on my arm and "come stay in my guest house i have very nice room!" We are starting to chant "no, no, no, no, no" in our sleep!
Off to Siem Reap tomorrow where Peder is insisting on getting up at 4am to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat, even though i am sure it will look the same 6 hours later and we will have had more sleep! Anyway i am sure we will get all the rest and relaxation we need with the 2 weeks we will be spending on the beach on Thailand's islands in 4 days! We can't wait!
Lots of Love
Pete and Rach xxx
