Finally made it to Toronto after 26 and half hours of travel since leaving Wellington, Everything went smoothly until we got to Vancouver where after using the computers for immigration (which were so confusing!) and then finally finding our bags and then finding the connections for Air Canada. Once dropping our bags off for our connecting flight we then had to go upstairs to security, only to be directed down to the check in counters, as we had asked if our seat allocations could be changed, as we were not sitting together. In the end we needed to go through security at the normal entrance compared to the connecting security. Once that was done, we were set and had to ask at the gate to see if we could change our seats. If only someone had told us this from the beginning, it would have saved us heaps of time and not to mention stress!! We were lucky enough to get them changed and ended up sitting in the emergency seat row, so we had plenty of room for our legs, but were right in front of the toilet! Actually, it was so bad, and really didn't notice people using it. After the flight left late, we arrived at Toronto just before midnight, finally reaching our hotel at 1am. Finally got to bed just after 2am.
We woke up this morning just after 8am and after having a relaxed and much needed breakfast, we headed out into the streets of Toronto. We caught the City Sightseeing Bus and did the circuit before deciding what to see. This circuit took nearly 2 hours. Amazing city and amazing buildings and architecture. We ended up going to see Casa Loma Castle. Here there were people everywhere and they had run out of audio guides, so we ended up just following the map and making our own way around. An amazing place and beautiful rooms.
We then made our way back down to the water front and did the free ferry ride around some of the islands in the harbour. Great city views. There is an airport down by the harbour and the planes come into land right over the water and it feels like they are going to land in the water!
After this we walked back to our hotel past the Rodgers Stadium and CN Tower. By the time we got back to the hotel it was 7pm. Off out for dinner over the road where we sat outside. By the time we had finished it was getting quite cool.
Early night tonight - bit trip to Niagara tomorrow!
