Well, we spent 19 hours on the train, where we tried to sleep, plus stopped at Kamloops, where there seemed to be nothing! Apparently, even the station was a shack! We were there for half an hour, really just to stretch our legs, while the locomotives were re-fuelled. This was around 6:30am! Here we also learned that the train was 25 carriages long! Some of them seemed longer than the normal carriage as well, so it was a big train!
The train trip acutely went pretty quick - I read a book and we slept quite a bit. We were actually sitting on the wrong side of the train for views, but we were on the right side for a beautiful waterfall, Pyramid Creek Falls, which the train slowed right down for.
Surprise, surprise, the train actually came into Jasper on time! I believe this is actually a very uncommon occurrence. Since we were in the first carriage, we had quite a hike back to the station, where Kelsi and Cameron were waiting for us. We so good to see Kelsi and Cameron after so long!
Once we were all loaded into their Jeep, it was off to our accommodation, Patricia Chalets, which is in the same house as Kelsi and Cameron live. They have the basement appartments and we are just above them. Once we had unpacked and freshened up a bit, we ventured out to dinner. We went to a pizza restaurant where we had a BBQ Chicken pizza, plus one other pizza, which we added mushrooms and pesto sauce. Both were really yummy. To follow this we all had Tiramisu. Yum! We also had drinks called Moscow Mules, which were served in tin mugs with mint leaves and slices of lime!
After walking back home, which was't very far at all, we put some much needed washing on! Then it was finally bed time to get a decent slip in an actual bed!
