Ok, so arrived safely in Bangkok after journey of 13 hours to Singapore and then three hour wait and further three hour flight.
Hot and humid weather but no rain, yay!!
Anyway to sum up
Spent first night in ''expensive'' guest house at ten quid per night, slap bang in the middle of Kaho San Road which is the tourity part of Bangkok and full of white people.Lots of night markets and people trying to sell you didgy stuff at expensive prices. One of the first things was to get my haircut, so went to barbers and in about ten mins i had waved bye to all my locks and now sport a Number 2 crop. Yes, i mean hair shave rather than cut. I think I look silly with HUGE ears but its very easy in terms of not bothering about hair and when walking in the monsson rain! Phtos will appear soon, yikes, goodbye to any secret admirers I had

Its amazing how little people here speak english and getting about is a nightmare to tell the truth and I am resorting to so much gesticulating like throwing my arms out in a direction and saying rot meh when asking for a bus number!!
Got caught up in a couple of Tuk Tuk scams (tuk tuk is a three wheeled ugly scooter thing you can see a picture of and they are expensive and smelly but fun to start with.Called auto rickshaws in India.
Have been eating on the streets as per backpacking rules, and oh my god I even tried deep fried grasshoppers and cockraoches and larvae. Cant say it was a particularly gourmet experience, I would describe grasshoppers as salty and prcikly but not particularly offensive apart form legs sticking in between teeth, while the larvae were positevly disgusting with undertones of liver and a rank aftertaste. Nice.

Also met Ash's brother Amar and his girlfriend Tang who live in Bangkok. Oh m,y god, Amars flat is on the 47th floor and he has one SPECTACULAR view! They took me for awesome meal and foot massage.
Summary, street meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner were about 80p each and buses (trust me i got a few cos i often got on the wrong ones) were about 10p each ride.
Oh yeah and i went to a HUGE weekend market they have...every weekend....and it was v cool, though a bit sad cos they had asection where they sold tiny cute baby puppies which had undoubtedly been stolen from mums.
Ummm, so much to tell but I know that you guys are busy with work and all that...what is work by the way, i seem to have forgotten??
