We had booked to go tubing today and Lyn and Mark were going zip-lining. Both of these activities ran from the same spot which we had to drive to. Would have been difficult without a car! We boarded a rather shabby 4 WD vehicle and headed of on some bumpy roads to the start of the course. A couple of lovely lookouts on the way and the guides were young blokes and full of life. There was about 15 of us in the group and we all had to wear special gloves, shoes and helmet with a light on the top. Tubing involves sitting in a large inner tube floating down a waterway. In this case, through some dark, narrow tunnels for about an hour. Great fun! We had to sign various waivers to say that we understood that we might get wet among other things! Apparently, the day before some tourist got to the start of the course and didn't realise that tubing involved getting wet! A picnic lunch was served at the destination where we were picked up and we had a swim in the river as well. Back to the starting point and we had to wait for Lyn and Mark's zip-lining to finish for an hour and a half so we drove(well, Lisa did)to a beach near Lihue Airport. It was nice and warm in but the beach was very dirty with rubbish. Picked up the others and back to Kapa'a for dinner at a nice restauraunt for our last night on Kauai.
