Lisa took off for a walk before breakfast which she enjoyed. We had booked to go on a helicopter flight this afternoon which I was a bit nervous about as I'd never been in a helicopter before!
We decided to visit the Waimea canyon in the morning. This was a lovely drive along the cliff tops of the amazing canyon which was described by Mark Twain as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific!
Lots of lovely waterfalls and the weather was great. Fine and sunny! Stopped at a nice lookout (overlook here) for lunch which we had bought at a shop on the way. Magnificent!
Back to Salt Ponds beach for a swim and then to the helicopter office. Very well organised and I tentatively boarded to chopper!
It was FANTASTIC! No unpleasent motion at all and the views were stunning. Had the Go Pro going a lot of the time (until the card filled as I'd forgotten to delete old files) Luckily we didn't get the pilot that had trained and worked in 'nam!
Had dinner at the marina near the airport which was fish and chips washed down with some more Long Board Lager!
