Ola! We have returned to Quito ah ha! Since landing in Ecuador a couple of weeks back we have yet again managed fleeting adventures all around! First stop was a 10 hour bog standard bus journey to Canoa in Bahia, West Coast of Ecuador... a very quiet place with beautiful coast scenery, spent few days chilling out to refuel before our 10 day Galapagos trip. Night bus back to Quito, this time we made sure it was Executivo class (which by the way is still quite crumby!!) but apart from the motion of going round the mountains at high speed we pulled in to the main terminal at 5.30am and checked straight in to our first lovely hotel and slept!
Galapagos trip started the next day and WHAT AN AMAZING TIME WE'VE HAD!! Coming within arms reach of Blue footed boobies, i must stress this is not some kind of alien female species, no, but a very cute birdie with BLUE feet!! Check out the photos to see how close we got to all the wild life this unique place had to offer... Snorkelling with loads of sea lions, galapagos penguins (the 2nd smallest pingus in the world= Becks checkm out!) WHITE TIP SHARKS arrggghhhh, giant turtles and so many gorgeous fishies and coral. The on land nature was again just breathtaking, we were always at arms length from the wild life and would have been able to reach out and touch although this is forbidden for the safety of the animals. So going back to the blue footed boobies, or as i made the unfortunate mistake of calling them Blue Titted Boobies on our first day and J will not let this drop now!! The Magnificent Frigate birds, watching their red heart shaped chest inflate like a balloon to attract the female frigates, so many sea lions =Lynnie, you would have loved them! with their pups too, only a few days old - sooooooooooo cute. We really did have a once in a life time experience and would recommend it to anyone.
B.O.B, which for the non sailors out there means Back On Board, the bar was very well used by the group and the 4 lazy chairs were in constant use so we could rest aur sea legs for a while, the cabins were VERY small but what a good excuse for me and J to be even closer (sorry!!)

Thanks for all the messages. Just arrived back in Lima from Puerto Maldonado in the Peruvian part of the Amazon. How hot was this place. Sweat constantly pouring off you and glad to be back in greyness of Lima (only for tonight as we fly to Quito in Ecuador tomorrow lunchtime). The rainforest was such a great experience. Tarrantulas, Caimans, a monkey, loads of creepy things and birds galore but no snakes or Jaguars - did play football against the locals in 40 degree heat and 90% humidity. Lost first game but won the second thanks to 2 goals from your truely. Got bitten by tons of mossies so just sctraching galore at present. Said goodbye last night to the group we have been travelling with (and all got on well - even the Aussies after the Ashes!!). Both feeling a touch hungover today. When we get to Quito, hopefully going to catch a bus the next day to the coast and spend a few days on the beach before we leave for 10 days sailing round Galapgos.
Nice to chill after such a hectic time - Mum you will be glad to know my hair is slowly growing back! Pausie has bought loads of jewellery and keeps trying to buy me things to stop her feeling guilty!! Missing you all surprisingly. I´m even missing studying (a little) and work (well the people anyway). Sarah, glad to hear you´re moving out - have to do your own washing from now on! Parents Crouch - how did the party go, we were dancing in your honour last night (well again Pausi was dancing and i was shuffling trying to look cool but acheive that sad uncordinated movement where everyone feels sorry for you.
Adios amigos

Nearly forgot - no, we haven't found a way to upload video to this site. It only recognises still image files.
Rie And Stew
Hi you two. Glad Macchu Picchu lived up to your expectations - how could it not??? Sorry, we didn't stay in Ecuador but we know some people who did - we'll ask them. We return to the UK on Friday, but we are heading off around the UK in a camper van for a month. Can't quite bear to do the work thing yet. It seems weird that you are just beginning and we are almost done. Keep enjoying!!
Lovely

Jock & Poka Aka J&p!!
Well hello again - I have managed to laugh out loud AND cry all at once in this very small internet cafe cos of all the lovely mesages! So where shall i start..... we arrived back last night from Machupicchu and what an adventure it was..... 4 days hiking and i mean HIKING! Our group of 12 all agreed it´s the hardest thing we´ve ever done- 26miles of steep gradients and the Peruvian flat (which means up and down and up and down)! Camping at night in minus zero conditions but what an experience trekking along the Inca trail in hail, rain, snow and sunshine! So we´re back in Cusco with our first free day in 2 weeks and boy does it feel good to get up later than 4am! Tomorrow we´re off to the Amazon so from working at Amazon.co.uk in London to the real thing in SA im guessing they´ll be quite a few differences!!! Yesterday we climbed the last mountain of the day called Waynapicchu, what a hairy journey getting to the top but we stood up on the highest rock and shouted out wooooooohoooooooo.... first time ive actually seen Jon hesitate a little vertigo me thinks!!
Just fyi i have been very good at the back pack thang and am trying desparately hard not to purchase too many goodies!! Ma&Pa we´d love for you to fly over just give us a date and u too M&D Bryant ; )
J&I will be having our little ceremony for Nanny Paterson so we can say our prayers and send our special wishes. We saw a beautiful double rainbow a few days ago and we said it was her shining down on us. We are thinking of you all in Nuneaton and sending all our love.
Kirtsy & Rich, we took a photo of a sign saying "Spectacled Bears" although sadly we didnt see any- our guide has been up over 100 times and only ever seen 2!
Ol-Pol thank you for your ipod instructions, damn thing doesnt seem to like the altitude- i´ll give the reset a try.
George I was so happy when M&D told me Greg had set up suprise visit from your Mum, bring tears of happiness to my eyes.
To the IOW crew, so glad all is well - let´s get one thinkg straight... waterproofs and fleeces and ponchos are definitely not for the stylish!!
Rie and Stew, when do you return? Thank you so much for the packin gtips - they worked a treat! Any tips on where to stay in Equador by the sea? Do you know if we can upload video footage on to this website?
Pebble´s Mummy, hope DMs going well, please say hi to all and Pebbles!!!
Guess i better stop with the typing diorreoah (never know how to spell that word just really happy when you dont have to!)
Em and Stevo - hope you and the WHOLE group are still partying hard - no doubt there!
So it´s Buenos tardes from us and a big cheery cuddle, lots of love P&J xxxxxxxxxxxxx
PS Jock and Poka - just in case u wondered they´re our nicknames from a night of silliness, singing and fun and games on the Andes with our group!
