Our last sleeper was definetly the most uncomfortable. We arrived into Hanoi early morning and booked into The Drift Hostel, which is the best we've stayed in so far. The rooms and beds were nice and big, the bathroom was excellent and it also had a cinema room and a rooftop bar. The owner has also said I can have a free drink for the advertising.
Hanoi although similar in many ways to Saigon is quite different. It seemed a lot more relaxed, probably due the fact there are a lot less scooters on the road. It is also less 'westernised' than Saigon, with more parks, lakes and quaint little shops. After checking into the hostel we headed for one of the lakes. We visited the zoo which was a higher quality than we anticipated and we took to the lake for some ZORBING. This entailed climbing into a giant ball (a zorb) full of air and trying to walk across the lake. This was possibly the hottest and sweatiest i've been after 5 minutes of exercise in my life and anyone who knows me well will no that I wasn't a pretty picture afterwards.
During the afternoon we went to a bookstore so Kieran could exchange a book and we dined for a cause. This was the second charity restaurant we had been to and the food has been consistently excellent. The under privileged South Asian kids really can cook. Afterwards we chilled in the hostel watching some films in the cinema room and booked our flights to Bangkok. We went for dinner and watched epic Manchester derby which was a fully deserved win for United and then hit the sack.
