Started our 2 week trip in Italy on 1st April in Milan. We were only planning to spend a week at the most in Italy because of the expense of the place but we liked it too much. Arrived late in Milan so spent out on a budget hotel because the only hostel in the city is quite far out. Made the effort to get there for the second night - wished we hadn't, it was a s***-hole. Switzerland: 28th March - 1st April 2006 Flew into Basel in pretty s***e weather, in fact 10 degrees and pissing it down. After a week of temperatures in the late 20s it was pretty dissapointing.
