Although we weren't planning to spend all that long in Poland we ended up spending 9 nights there. Originally we were planning to travel to Kiev in the Ukraine after Krakow. But because of crap train connections it was going to take almost 24hours to get there. Krakow is a great place, even better the weekend we visited - a student festival was on. The Hofbrauhaus! What can I say, other than this place is heaven! All pubs should be like this! Live band playing in their leder-hosen (not a particularly good sight but I assume they realise they look ridiculous. Drinks served only in litre steins (obviously Hofbrau - memories of the good old days of the Wheatsheaf there). There are 80 year old women drinking out of the things!! So much to see in Vienna - definately need more than the three nights that we spent there. Stayed in probably the best hostel yet - Ruthensteiner! It even has its own garden - just whats needed now as it just seems to get hotter every time we move countries!
