Paul and Laura on Tour
Hi guys, its my turn to write today as Pauls engrossed in football 365...how he's going to cope when we leave here I dont know! Hope you're all enjoying the weather, from what my mummy says, its baking! Well, you'll be glad to know that its p***ing it down here! Lovely!
We've added some more photos for you to look at in the Aucland file but my camera battery ran out at the zoo :(
Despite the rain we've still made the most of our last few days in Auckland. Yesterday we braved the weather to visit the zoo which was very cool. It was so different zoos at home, you were able to get really close to the animals. My pictures dont do justice for how close we actually were!
Paul was particularly taken with the hippos in their mud pools, they were so funny to watch. Wallowing I think they call it?! My fave were the flamingos! They're PINK!! Jac, I would've tried to steal you one but Im still blacklisted after trying to kidnap a baby penguin for you! Managed to spend the whole day at the zoo despite the torrential rain! Even saw the hippos being fed which was comical, kinda similar to when the chips get put out after football at The Falconers!!
That evening after getting back to the hostel and warming up with Dominos pizzas we went out to the harbour to go to The Minus 5 bar. It was so cool, I suppose its just like a bar in a freezer! Seriously! You have to go through a giant freezer door to get in! (Laura K, you've really got to go to the one in London! It was awesome!) EVERYTHING was made of ice, the walls, bar, ceiling, chairs, tables, decor, even the glasses! It was amazing! We were given huge coats and gloves before we went in and we were only allowed in for 25minutes to prevent hypothermia! They have another one in Queenstown so who knows, another visit may be arranged! Stayed around the harbour for a few drinks to warm up. It was just like The Locks at home! Ended up back in the dwarves bar next to the hostel when we got back and bopped into the wee small hours to a VERY ecclective selection of music! No dwarves tonight though! It was like a student night in Mirage!
Got up late today after recovering from last nights session! Took ourselves off to the Sky Tower for Pauls appointment to throw himself to his doom! (Ok, so Im being a little mellow dramatic but Im the one that had to watch him fling himself off the side of a building at 75km/hour!!)...Judy, it was very safe! See the pictures for his gorgeous outfit! I was quite jealous!!
Not sure what we're gonna do tonight but as we leave first thing in the morning we need to pack! Pauls clothes are spread across the whole room (In a similar way to his room at home) so I have a feeling it may take some time!!
We pick up the camper van in the morning so not sure when we'll next get to an internet cafe but Im sure we'll keep in touch when we can.
Hope you're all ok. Missing everyone loads and loads!!
Lots and lots and lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
P.S Keep in touch its lovely to hear from everyone!
