I traded in the surf board for a motorbike and went exploring the island. I put 150km on the bike, which is a HUGE day considering the roads here. I traveled from the deep south and beaches where I'm staying, far to the base of the mountains in the center of the island. I kept getting diverted onto small side roads that were really pot-holed and bumpy, but it was cool to see Bali off the beaten track.

I visited one of the most sacred temples, situated high up on the slopes of a volcano. Up there is was really misty and damp. Then I went through a section of rice paddies on the return trip. My butt was pretty sore as I was sitting on the bikefrom about 8am to 6pm.
