Pete & Pam go Travelling
Next stop was Whangarei were we went to see the falls, a kiwi bird and some ancient maori artefacts. Well, we actually wanted to go on a guided night walk to spot kiwi birds & glow worms, but it was cancelled due to rain forecast. Had lunch with my nan the next day - but was asked to leave when she realised we weren't staying with her - it was a case of "bye bye then!" Drove onto sheepworld the following day and stayed in the campsite that night. Weather had started getting a bit nasty - cold & very wet. Went to the morning show at sheepworld - excellent! Got to feed a piglet, saw the sheepdogs at work, shearing, drafting etc. Apparently a good shearer can shear over 700 sheep in one day! Thats a lot. Drove on a bit more south and stopped in Cambridge for the night - just south of Hamilton. On to Rotarua tomorrow!
