Pete & Pam go Travelling
Have arrived in New Zealand! We arrived yesterday about 2pm local time. Got through passport control just fine! We took the airbus from the airport and it dropped us right outside the hostel we're staying in. Its called the fat camel. We have booked a double room rather than a dormitory to start with. We ate out at a greasy spoon cafe last night. Pete had sausage, egg & chips & I had lasagne & salad. It was nice. We are in the Queen Street area which seems to be quite busy, but Auckland is a big city so I suppose it would be busy where ever you went. We slept in til 11am today as we were both so tired from the journey, didn't get to sleep on the plane as we felt like sick people. So far so good. We have one more night in Auckland - so we are going to book up some travel arrangements to go north a bit for a couple of days, then head to the south island slowly. The sky tower you can see in the picture is the tallest building in Auckland. There is a bungy jump off that and its right over one of the busiest streets in the city - you have to be brave, or stupid!!
