Sophie And Tami Were Here
Tuesday 27th March
Journal entry brought to you by Tami (still with toothache)
This morning we caught the greyhound to Coff's Harbour, leaving behind the land of nothing, Newcastle. I actually really liked Newcastle but I seem to be completely alone in this opinion! It was really peaceful. Anyway we eventually got to Coff's, and were picked up by Aussitel where we were staying on Chris' recommendation. On the pickup bus a massive rant started about how rubbish Newcastle was! It was really funny. The pickup stopped at a lookout point and we were told a bit about what we could do in the town. There was an island called Muttonbird Island which provided quite a nice walk, and there was a creek that went through the middle of the Botanical Gardens which we decided to go up on Wednesday. As it was late afternoon and there wasn't really much to do we decided to take a walk through the town to see what there was on offer. We went to the supermarket and then it happened. On the way back Sophie saw a sign that said DENTIST. We went in, really so I could ask some advice, not expecting them to give me an appointment or anything but they booked me in for the next morning, which I thought was awesome. We then went back to the hostel and for dinner I had gnocchi with pesto. It was awesome. We then met three of our new roommates, there was Bekki (who was this mega fun girl who was passing time by working at the hostel), Megan and Gill who were two American girls travelling together. After dinner I played cards with Megan and Gill and they told me all about their travel plans and gave me lots of tips about where to go and what to do in Oz and New Zealand which was great. We then, lamely, went to bed. Coff's Harbour seems cool though.
