Hey everyone,Sorry we haven't written for a while, we know you're all dying to know what we've been up to………..Well we left the campsite in Salzburg around 7 in the morning so we could get to the front of the queue at the festival, this turned out to be pointless as there weren't any queues or gates and we just drove straight in. We knew we were in the right place as there were a few campers and tents dotted about already but we were confused as we were in the middle of a field surrounded by people's houses and cows, anyway we eventually figured out where the camper parking was after driving round about 3 times and we found some guys who spoke English, they explained to us where and how we could set up and we were all sorted for about 9am. The Festival was good but nothing compared to Leeds fest, it was much smaller and the people were very different, for example most of them were sober the whole time which was quite unusual to say we were at a festival. We were also hoping to meet English people where we were camping but they were all from Austria, we met a few nice English people in the actual festival though. We were able to see all the bands that we had planned on seeing, apart from missing Maximo Park to see Lightspeed Champion as their times overlapped and we'd already seen Maximo Park 3 times, we made the right decision too because we got to meet Dev and the drummer from Lightspeed Champion, we took some pics and spoke to Dev and one of the guys from we are scientist, Pab asked them both if we could come back stage if he gave them a spliff each. They said they don't smoke weed. haha. We also didn't get to see Babyshambles which we were gutted about but not really surprised to hear that Pete Doherty had cancelled an hour before the gig, the big smacked up bum wipe. On the first night we made the stupid mistake of leaving our chairs out and of course they got pinched, so Pab went out that night and pinched two others, but we were still quite pissed off because ours were really good and comfortable and the ones we ended up with were rubbish. We've not really needed them since though as its getting close to winter and the weather isn't really that good to be sitting out in, so our brill tans have started to fade fast. Although we'd had a good time we were glad to be leaving we'd had enough of the sludge and the people, so we packed up and left the festival around 9ish and headed towards Munich to start the long wait for everyone to get here for the beer fest.So we got to Camping Thalkirchen in Munich, we weren't that impressed though, it was 22euros a night, electricity was an extra 3.50 a night and you had to pay for showers and hot water separately so it was quite expensive and the camp plots available were basically parking spaces, no room for gazebo's or chairs and tables and we also found out that we could only stay here for 2 weeks, so we decided to stay for 5 days and found another campsite, just as close to the city centre that we could stay in for as long as we needed, its cheaper and much more spacious. In the 5 days at camping Thalkirchen, the weather was quite nice, we went down to the river at the side of the campsite, there is a section under a bridge where the current gushes like rapids and surfers use it to practice as its kind of like small waves. We also visited Thalkirchen zoo, it was quite nice at first it seemed like all the animals were in big fields almost like in the wild but as we got further in it got quite upsetting, they had a huge polar bear in a really small tank, and the gorilla's and orang-utans looked really miserable, some of them were nearly bald from sitting there bored and pulling their hair out. The Baboons seemed to be enjoying themselves though, they were all running around with great big boners even the babies and being the childish adults that we are me n Pab started taking pics of the monkeys doin it hahaha monkey porn is funny. We managed to see most of the zoo but it started to dawn on us that it wasn't a really good idea going as we just started to feel sorry for all the animals and I was getting angry at the children banging on the windows and screaming at the animals so we left. Munich's a nice place, we saw some of the city, too big to see all of it but it's a really easy going place. We made a decision to find some work in Munich as we were going to be here for a month and a half and it would be a good opportunity to get some extra money. We found that all of the English speaking jobs are in Irish and Australian bars so we spent a day collecting application forms and sorting our CV's out which we didn't end up needing in the end as we walked into the Hard Rock Café, asked for application forms, filled them out that day with attached pics and handed them back in. The guy we gave them to passed them onto the Service manager who's this really cool American guy, he took me straight into this private lounge, he told me they really needed a female host and was very interested in me, he asked how long we were planning on staying in Munich, I was going to lie as me and Pab had planned but he said to me that he didn't want to waste my time and that he only needed someone during October Fest, I figured I should be honest with him and explained that we'd be available up to 30th of September which is 5 days before the festival ends which he was ok with and said that usually you have to go through 3 interviews and 2 weeks training but he said as long as I got a German tax card and bank account I could start as soon as. Pab spoke to the retail manager who explained to him that she would totally understand if he didn't want to take her offer and said that what she had available was really s***ty and would involve folding t-shirts in a tiny store room with no windows, but Pab took it as its really easy money. We got our Tax cards the next day really easily and went to the bank to set an account up but stupidly when we were asked how long we were staying in Munich we told the truth and said 2 months, the women explained that the minimum stay is 6 months in order to set the account up so we went to the Hard Rock the next day and told them what had happened and the top manager who's this hippy guy from London told us not to tell the truth and to tell them that we had moved here, so we went to a different bank, said we'd just moved here, got jobs and were currently staying at a campsite while we looked for a house, they bought this and set the account up so we started at the Hard Rock the following week. Its cool, we've met some really great people who we've been going out drinking with, and Pab has found a new local. Its an Italian bar that stays open until you want to leave. Everyone in the place calls him Jesus or Pablo Escobar (due to his bushy appearance), If you go in there enough, you get free shots all the time. Had a few drunken nights in there. However we both cant wait to finish especially Pab who's getting really fed up of folding t-shirts for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end when everyone gets here and we've got extra beer money. On our first day at work, we got up and got ready and biked down from the campsite to the tram stop which is only a 5 min bike ride, we went to lock our bikes up but Pab realised he'd forgot the padlock and it was too late to go back to get it so we propped the bikes up behind loads of others and hoped they'd be ok but when we got back that night someone had moved mine out of the way and pinched Pablo's, we were quite pissed off but also found it funny that they had moved my really crappy 10year old bike out of the way, propped it up nicely at the side and taken Pablo's really good expensive bike. Pab told one of the guys that he works with what had happened the next day and the guy told Pab that bikes that aren't locked up in Munich are screaming "take me" so he said to look for another bike that was also unlocked and take it, so the next day a very drunken Pablo found an unlocked bike and rode it home, however the one that he took has weird wonky handle bars and a flat tyre but it serves its purpose getting him too and from the tram stop. The Oktoberfest started the other day but seen as though we never get a day off together, I went with a few of the lads from work. Its amazing, sooo many drunken people and boobies in the traditional German dresses haha. Can't wait to go with everyone when they get here.So today as I'm writing this we've just been asked to stay on at Hard Rock, which of course we've turned down and we're now counting the days down to our last day and cant wait for everyone to get here.So we'll do another update after the beer fest.See ya x x x x (p.s theres 2 new albums to look at munich and frewuency festival)
