Day 11 Kununurra to Derby. Took in a scenic flight over Lake Argyle and the Bungle Bungle Range...fantastic sights. Ladscape reminded me of the Rift Valley as you see it on TV. Only 4 on our plane...unfortunately one was a vomiting german woman...not too good for Sally in the back seat. Great trip though and a good view of the Kimberley diamond mine...no free samples though. Then off on another long haul drive....turned out to be longer than expected as no roo...

Day 10 Jabiru to Kununurra A long drive...had to defer to Sally today...too sick! Crossed in to WA after cursory fruit & veg quarantine check..then into the Kimberleys. Got hotter, then hotter still and even more humid. Found another Big 4 camp to stay...unfortunately they hadn't left the a/c on and it took all night to cool down..not good with a fever. Doesn't pay to venture out after dark either.....lots of aboriginals sitting under trees...seems to be...

Day 9 At Kakadu. Short drive from dull Darwin. Kept waiting for it to become lush rainforest, but it never did. Arrived at Gagidju Crocodile Resort and collapsed for a couple of hours with this bloody flu. Luckil, hotel package had river cruise included, so in 40C and 90% humidity, it was off up the Yellow Water billabong and south crocodile river...not expecting to see any.....were we wrong! Evidently there's a croc for every 20 metres of riverbank. Got to ...

Day 8 Darwin. WWII and Cyclone Tracey didn't knock it over but there's evidence they had a good go at it. Not much to see though. Did our own guided tour in the humidity. Nice musuem/art gallery. Two doses of the flu and a neat afternoon thunderstorm rounded off the day

Day 7 Tennant Creek to Darwin. Darwin...still evolving! First traffic light in 5000 kms. 1/3 of the way done. Pretty uneventful trip today. Virtually nothing on the roads until Adelaide River. Termite mounds just keep getting bigger. Don't think there was a single metre of bush along the way that hadn't been burnt in recent times...and that's a lot of bush. Amazing how quickly the landscape changes at each border. Luckily was overcast most of the way here....
