17th June-
Slow start to the day after the late night... Headed for breakfast which has a beautiful view out over the beach. It is still super windy weather which is annoying.
Headed down to the beach and walked along till we fount some unmanned sun beds that we could sit on for free. Sat around reading and talking for an hour before we were asked to leave as the sun bed were for guests of another hotel. walked back to the hotel pool and sat around there reading and talking again till after 12. Went back to the hotel and got ready to head into Mykonos town. Went to the bus stop and we were waiting for a long time before looking at the schedule and realize that the bus only comes once an hour not every half hour like we had thought. Stood around talking and enjoying this ozuo lollies from the hotel. They are delicious hard candy with the ozuo aniseed flavor.
Finally got on the bus and headed into town. Was fun walking around the shop looking inside them all. You notice how people try to individualize there shops or home while sticking to the strict building guidelines. Different shades of blue, decorative railings and mailboxes, even some with more of a green or brown toned features... It is just amazing to walk around look in the shops and explore these winding cobble stone streets. The extreme wind is annoying as at times you feel like you are going to be blown away. The ferries service isn't running today due to the extreme weather. Hope by tomorrow when we want to leave and travel to Paros that it has calmed down and the ferries are running again.
After a couple of walking around and enjoying another frozen yoghurt... They are so good :) we headed back to the bus stop to get the bus to paradise beach for the afternoon beach party.
Arrived and it was a relaxed attitude. Grabbed some lunch at one of beach cafes and enjoyed it while looking out over the ocean.
Walked further down the beach and found a bar where we could sit and enjoying looking out over the ocean while sipping a refreshing drink. The party consisted of a few girls dancing on podiums and an old guy that looked kinda like Mick Jagger walking around and yelling random things into the microphone. Did some people watching but not too much as there was a large number of old naked men laying around. Sat there for a bit and waited for others from our group to arrive.... When they didn't we finished our drinks and walked back up along the beach and found them sitting at other end of the beach. Made plans to head back to the hotel but the bus wasn't leaving for over 30 mins and there were no taxis available so decided to walk. It was a small narrow dirt track along the coast line. Took about 35 mins to walk back and had to fight against the winds the whole way. At some points it felt like you were nearly going backwards. Finally made it back to our hotel. Git ready for dinner. My hair is starting feel like it may naturally form dread- locks after all the wind blowing it around then the ocean water and spray.
Dinner was just at the hotel restaurant. They had a bit of a Greek night. Tried the fried saganiki cheese, That was delicious but the main was disappointing just dry chicken. There were 3 man dancers that appeared and danced at various points throughout the night and we also got up and danced with them at various times. Tried to watch a movie but they were either in Greek or had no sounds so had fun making up the plot as it went along.
