Firstly I'd like to say thanks to everyone who has sent us messages. It is so nice to hear what's happening back home and what everyone is up to.
We have had a couple of busy days since our last blog. Scott took us for a drive up to the northern woods of Minnesota to his friends Gary & Julie's cabin which is on the shores of Lake Mary near a little town called Emily. If you look on a map it is north west of Minneapolis and west of Duluth. It is a lovely place and their house is 75 yards from the waters edge. Beautiful. So quiet! The drive up is a bit hard for Scott because the roads were very icy but that is why he offered to drive and not Noel as he is used to the conditions. It took us about 3 1/2 hrs to get to the cabin. Unfortunately we missed Julie as she had to get back to Minneapolis but had a nice time with Gary. We went to The Log Cabin and watched the Minnesota Vikings football team play on the big screen amidst raffles and all kinds of fun. The bar has trophies all over the place but not the metal type like we have. Check out the photos! Redneck Country? Yesterday was officially the last day of deer hunting season. We came back to the cabin for a bit of a rest then went back into the town of Emily to The Bungalow for dinner and the weekly meat raffles which are also a lot of fun. It is a really small town and everyone knows each other so it was a nice night out. We then came back and the boys lit a fire and they sat around chatting for a few hours. I chickened out and went inside the cabin and watched TV. It was too cold for me.... This morning we went into Emily for breakfast and then started our drive home stopping at a few places along the way. Again the roads were a bit icy as it hasn't been above 0oC the last couple of days. Tonight we had dinner with Scott's friend Nan and her daughter Courtney which was really nice and then we watched tv for awhile before Scott and Noel headed off to bed (I thought I'd better get these photos and blog done)
Tomorrow is supposed to be even colder!! We fly back to Los Angeles tomorrow afternoon so I'm sure it will be a bit warmer there. We will stay in LA overnight and then head off to Las Vegas for 4 nights.
Well it's after midnight here so I better get off to bed also and catch up on some beauty sleep.
Until next time - take care! Lot of love to everyone.

Mal Lovely to see you 2 are having a wonderful time. The house has been pretty quiet and the dogs don't seem to have chewed anything. The little cabin and lake looks wonderful i could do without the trophies but I guess that's what they do. Take care and have a white xmas by the look of things.
Robbie Hi Pam, great to see you are having so much fun over there although I don't envy you having to drive around on icy roads. I think that I could do away with the trophies as well, they put a whole new slant on dust collectors... Take care, talk to you soon Luv Robbie xxx
Stephanie Hey Noel & Pam, there's some great pictures on here. The sunrise looks beautiful! Icy roads are a bit scary though. The NZ mines are still making headlines in the news after a second explosion stopped the rescue attempt. The Ashes Cricket is about to start here too. Much love to you both, keep having fun.
