Janie To all our friends who were kind enough to read my blog and leave comments, thank you! Stan and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip! To answer a couple of your questions, yes, the weather is cold. But the temp does not vary a lot between high and low temps during the day and night -- only a few degrees. The average temperature is around 27-30 degrees Fahrenheit--but it feels much, much colder, 10-15 degrees cooler, because of the Artic wind, Brrrrr! As far as indoor temps, we did not notice much difference there than how we heat our homes and businesses here. But after being out in the cold all day, we needed to open the window a while each evening because even with the geothermal radiator turned OFF, the room temperature was too warm to sleep comfortably. Next trip? We want to visit India and the Middle East but we have not been able to work that out yet because best time to visit that area conflicts with other things we have going on. What we are thinking about instead is an Autumn trip back to Europe visiting countries we have not before and finishing the trip in November in Norway where we might once again have a CHANCE t see the Northern Lights!
re: Atlanta, Georgia - February 2, 2016Megan Janie and Stan! It was such a blast to have some drinks with you at the Blue Lagoon! You made my evening as a solo gal much more fun than I would have imagined! I hope the rest of your trip was great. I'm reading all of your posts now. My friend Chris finally arrived on Tuesday and we jetted up north and had a great time up there, too. Even went to the "Blue Lagoon of the North," the Myvatn Nature Baths. Hope you had an easy trip home and I hope to see you in NYC or the ATL sometime soon. All the best to you both!
re: Town and Country - January 25 & 26, 2016Lynda The houses look so different than ours and very unique. Loved Bhagu's questions. We are all enjoying your trip with you.
re: Snowing again!Lynda The sky looks beautiful, you all look so happy, and it also looks like the temperature is freezing. Great pictures that tell your story. You are seeing such amazing sights. Thanks for sharing. Love, Lynda
re: photo from 27 January 2016Bhagu Ahuja Beautiful pictures in all 3 albums. What is temperature range during a typical day of your stay? Do they maintain temperature indoors to 72 degrees Fahrenheit as we do here or they use lower indoor temperatures like 65 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit? You had mentioned to me that the daylight hours during your stay will be only 4; will like to know sunrise and sunset times for those 4 hours. Have you already taken cruise for northern lights or you are yet to take it? You both seem to be enjoying your stay.
re: Snowing again!Lauren I am soooo, soooo glad y'all are loving it there.
re: National Museum of Iceland - January 27, 2016cody oh i pray you guys can stay and see the lights!!!!! what a shame to go all the way there and miss them!!
re: National Museum of Iceland - January 27, 2016MJ Emma Whoops this was th one I meant to post on about the colors being spectacular....jeez what's the deal? Too early in MY morning I guess. This is one of those 'artsy' photos that I would take that I see as being colorful and a sort of a pattern genre. Love it! Love the one I posted in error too. I like photos with signs in them. Well, im moving on to your next bunch of photos!
re: Good small-space merchandisingMJ Emma Love this picture. I know that's weird to most, but you know me...the colors are spectacular!
re: Theatre in backgroundMadelyn Greeted with a rainbow! Doesn't that mean good fortune is in your future? I predict you will see The Northern Lights!!! For goodness sake there's a huge expanse of sky so I think the odds are more than in your favor and I'm thinking positive plus you've seen the rainbow? Yep, you'll see those lights, for sure.
