Our travels resume. Friday evening (January 9) we left Boston, flying on Lufthansa, a company that has embraced technology. No printed boarding passes; biometrics (facial recognition) was all that was needed for boarding. Not so in Munich surprisingly; nevertheless Munich's airport is sleek, clean, quiet. Alongside restrooms are fully-stocked showers and Napcabs available for anyone with a credit card.
Our new Airbus model had a bank of restrooms accessible by stairs down to a lower level. Two comfortable 6.5 hour flights through Munich landing in Delhi near midnight January 11. Ever-present fog/smog covers Delhi, the smell apparent once you step off the plane. This is the dry time of the year; no precipitation combined with farmers burning their fields makes for poor air quality. We're supplied with an "anti-pollution" mask by the A&K rep who met us at the airport, as well as welcome marigold leis.
