So, before we went to see the Tokyo Tower, we had a little lunch dessert in a nearby park. We bought some pasteries from apparently Scandinavian bakery (with best bread message), which boasts their "Tomte" help them to bake. Tomte are elves etc. in Scandinavian folklore and it worries me that they are making the goods. Anyway, we got a muffin for Miika (which he didn't eat in the end), a bun shaped like a teddy bear's head (filled with vanille cream) and a green tea bun (filled with a mochi and red bean paste).
Tokyo Tower was ok, I wouldn't still have it as a must on my itenerary as it still is an orange copy of the Eiffel Tower. However, Tokyo Tower is 333m high, while Eiffel is 320m high... I bet it's just to show some sort of superiority while being respectful. You first get to the basic platform at 150m and there you can then purchase access to special platform at 250m. And I highly recommend this as the sights are soooo much better up there, you'll see Fuji as well (better anyway). In any case, it's best to be there on a sunny day to see Fuji etc. but I would've wanted to see Tokyo at night as well (but didn't want to spend that much time there).
Downstairs there are some snack shops (McD, Baskin Robbins, Pink Dot etc.) and some trinket shops. Oh, and some museums like the wax museum and Guinness World Record museum. But we just had a small snack then continued onwards. That night we went out to see Tommi's friend Aaro and his friend Aapo in an izakaya-type place near Hotel Edoya.
