You're minding your own business, driving, looking around and all of a sudden you see a turtle at the side of the road. Not really special over here but this particular turtle was a bit confused. First of all, turtles lay their eggs at night and second… mostly on a beach. This one however picked a piece of grass next to a gas station? Don't know what it was thinking but I'm sure glad we caught it. Never seen something like that before.
At the moment graduation is happening all over America and we lucked out. Dartmouth College, situated in Hannover NH, is an Ivy League school which means it's one of the best schools in the country. Students really work their tails of to get accepted and then graduate 4 years later. We were passing through and the graduation ceremony just ended. It's a big happening for the students and their family and friends. You only see happy faces and they deserve to be happy because their future awaits! To be or not to be? Time will tell:-)
Maybe we need something new on our bucket list…. Visit every town in the united states that's called Woodstock. There are 4 of them just in this area. At one point I'm definitely going to visit the one in the state New York and of course Bethel because the whole thing actually happened there but for now I had to be satisfied with Woodstock NH. I'll tell ya, it was no disappointment. What a nice little town. They actually have a chalkboard on which they communicate with each other and all their events but also local messages are scribbled on there. It's called the town Crier. It's a artist community and that really shows. Just outside of town there's a farm where there's an ongoing exposition of art sculptures and what not. There's one artists who planted Elms and cultivated in such a way that they grew in arches. I always admire people who are creative. It's a wonderful place to relax and take some time.
We were on our way to a feature called sculptured rocks when we stopped during our road trip at some point and we met a Dutch family. They were planning to stay for three years but there here for 12 and still going strong. Started a family and told us they are happy with their life's here and aren't planning to return to Holland. Sculptured rock is a nature site where the rocks are "sculptured" during the ice age. It's a great thing to see that nature is able to create all of this. What a strength and force. It's not a touristic thing. People come here to hike, relax and fish
On the road back home we encountered a museum. It was abandoned and there were instructions how to visit, where you could turn the lights on and off. We stopped because the sign said it's a museum of everyday life. I always think my life is quit ordinary so let's compare….. turned out that everyday life is just the way you see it. We should have more of these thing back home it would brighten up everybody's life. That's for sure!
Now we are preparing to say goodbye to our host. We are finishing up our work here and are heading for Canada. It's been a while since if been there and I'm really looking forward to it. First Montreal so we'll see you across the border, eh?
