Leaving Hoi An

We left Hoi An at 11.30 and traveled by car to Danang where our train awaited. NOT we got into the train station only to find that the tickets we had were for the 11.26 train not the 13.13 train that our travel agent had told us about. So short panic later we buy tickets for the 13.13 train. only 9 euro so not bad. We were waiting some time and the train was delayed and in all the confusion we started to queue up for the Hanoi train going in the opposite direction. Thankfully there was a vietnamese woman who spoke english and she informed us of our error and brought us to an offical and got all the information we needed. Thank you mysterious lady. Anyway we got on our train eventually. Sat down and i fell asleep immediately. I woke up 2 hours later to the train stopped and as it turns out we had been stopped for some time thus extending our train journey further. We decided to ask an offical what time we would reach Nha Trang seeing as we would have to be awake the get off or we would end up in Saigon. George was told it would be 4.30am baring in mind this was 4pm and we were scheduled to be there at 11 if we hadn't been delayed. 4.30am we taking the piss. So i went up and asked a lady and she said the same but could not for the life of her understand my question as to were on this map are we presently. She looked at the map as if it was some alien artifact. I almost screamed this is your f***ing country and we are not getting to Nha Trang at 4.30am at all are we dumbass, but i held back. Instead I got George to ask the lady beside us if she spoke english which she did and for her to ask the next offical that came through. She did and got the answer MIDNIGHT which was music to our ears a much more probable time of arrival. We carried on minding our own business noses in books when we were interrupted by a swaying youngman. He was asking us to have dinner with him and his friends. We said your alright we're fine. About 1 hour later aother youngman asks the same agian swaying. So George sacrificies himself cos i wasn't going to. He slumps off and i'm grinning away thinking ha ha good luck trying to understand them.

After 20mins George returns with news about ETA and its redueced to 11pm yay! i ask him what did those boys want he said they were all drunk and wanted to chat with him and bring his female friend too. ha ha the bar chart was full of men i dont think any women dared enter so glad i wasnt up for the challenge.

The trains electricity kept flicking on and off until it sxitch off completely for about 30 seconds, how reassuring. I finshed my book. Phil Pullmans Dark Material Triology very good. Anyway end of the story we got there and into a taxi and into our hotel and asleep.
