Today we went snorkelling to do a Green Fin survey. It involves looking at the coral and the fish and basically writing down how much of different kinds of things that you see. Getting used to breathing through a tube was tough at first but once you relax it's a lot easier. The coral on the beach we went to was in feilds so close to shore, and so low you really have to keep your feet up high or you either get cut or it breaks the coral, which I learnt takes 100's of years to regrow to what it looks like today. The sad thing is it is slowly getting ruined by all the diving on the island. There at over 40 dive school :S Part of what volunteers do is help to spread the awareness of being eco-friendly.
Other than that today was just spent eating food and relaxing. Getting used to this much ree time is so strange. At home my free time is limited I guess and it just feels bizarre. In about 5 or ^ days there is this thing called th Full Moon party on Koh Phanagn, the neighouring island. Look it up on google. I probably won't go but it sounds exciting.
