Merry Christmas!
I hope you all had a fab christmas. I had a brilliant time on our cruise!
We loaded up on alcohol on christmas eve and set off to the harbour where our boat, The British Defender was waiting. As soon as we go on ther was loads of rules, no shoes were allowed and we were only allowed 30 second showers with no shampoo or shower gel and we couldn't brush our hair downstairs!! Then the fun began because they put the sails up and we started sailing! It was an absolutely boiling hot day and so everyone was chilling on the deck.
Then we stopped off for some snorkelling anf you go go scubab diving if you wanted to. I decided to just do the snorkelling but I wish I had scubab dived because the reef was amazing compared to what we had seen the day before. It was so good, I wanted to stay there all day. After that we sailed to our spot for the night and they did us a bbq for dinner. The food was really good the whole time, we had steak, mash and garlic bread. Then the drinking started and we all got pretty drunk. Everyone on the baot was really nice but we joined forces with an english couple and another english girl who was on her own as she was living in Melbourne for a year. It was really good fun and we were all the last ones up singing christmas songs and dancing around.
It was too hot to sleep downstairs so we all sdlept on the deck which was fun but not too much fun when the sun came up at 5am and we strated getting sunburnt! I was feeling pretty rough on christmas day but I put my santa hat on and tried to forget about it! They took us to an island for a bush walk and there was an amazing view from the top so we all took our christmas pics. Me and Keon had to lend our santa hats to everyone so they could take photos! We were the only people on the boat who had bought presents as well so everyone was pretty jealous!\
Afterwards we went snokelling but it was nowhere near as good as the day before. For christmas dinner we had cold ham/turkey, salad and pasta which was really good. Then they took us to whitehaven beach which is in the top 10 in the world and it was amazing, The sand was so fine that you could rub it on a scratch on your watch and it would disappear! The highlight of christmas day was seeing turtles swimming along, it was so excitied because they just pop up quickly for air so its really hard to get a pic of them but I did it!
It was unbelivably hot on the beach but as there is killer jelly fish in the water we had to be fools and wear stinger suits in the water! One french girl was posing in the water without hers on and got a sting on her arm so we were all pancking but luckily it was a harmless one!
We went back to the baot in the evening and met up with another baot to have a joint christmas party in the middle of the sea! It gets dark at about 7pm here so we were all dancing like mad by about 9pm and everyone was really drunk! Its a surprise nobody fell in the water!
Fir christmas dinner they gave us chicken and rice but we got some chrackers which everyone was very excited about. I had to try and explain to some girls from Chile what they were because they thought there was food in it!
That night everyone was settling down for bed on the deck when the rain started and it was crazy rain, the baot was rocking like mad and didn;t stop so the next morning we all had to sit on deck in huge raincoats clinging on for dear life while we sailed back to the harbour. Thank god the trip was finishing at 11am that morning anyway otherwise it would have been a nightmare!
As soon as we got back to the harbour we headed to mc donalds and literally everyone from our baot and the boat from the night before was there. It was as if we had been away from civialisation for weeks! We were all supposed to be meeting up that night for drinks but we were too knackered, I doubt anyone would have made it!
At the moment we are on our 3 day drive to Sydney for NYE. We are ahead of schedule at the moment so have stopped off at Byron Bay for a wander around. We still havent; found any accommodation for Sydney so I have no idea where we'll be staying!! I'll write again soon!
Lots of love xxxx
