It's 8.18 and we're already in the bus to Epidaurus with the brilliant acoustic amphitheater. At least I hope, as there will be another strike today. v/d Zande will sing for sure, he'll just can't help it XD. Breakfast was some peaches, and I bought some fanta blue and some juicy thing, at least I won't dry out today. Apparently almost everyone has been visiting other rooms this night and some were caught, so we didn't have to carry our bags down again J. Thank god for people who don't follow rules and get caughtJ…
12.25, we're just back from Epidaurus, but we switched route so first we went to Nemea. I'm just told now that we visited the temple of Zeus with the strange, well, not a usual or normal area/form. There was also a bathhouse, with which the archeologists are busy right now. Yes, I forgot what we did,and no, I don't think that's odd, I am quite forgetful and we just see so much… I do remember Epidaurus, we saw the theater and moi et some others sang, whiles the rest listened on the far end up the place where the audience used to sit. After singing and finding out it was filmed (btw didn't see v/d Zande sing, he wasn't in our group) I fell down the steep stairs and hurt my leg… but I don't really care and we continued our quest to find more ruins like a hotel, and some other temple or grave. The museum situated here was quite small, and there wasn't much to see, but now we are already in the bus again, on our way to the old city Corinth, will be nice, but I have no idea what's to see over there, hmm, Marijke doesn't know either, but just let us wait and see.
16.31, Old Corinth was nice, and so was dinnerJ. Vive la pasta! There were some Japanese people praying and singing at the archeological site, very weird. Van Gucht and Wedershoven were way too enthusiastic about some building with a mosaic floor, (Elisa, mozaïek , mozaïek!) apparently it's very special, as almost no mosaic is ever found in this sort of places, but then again they were also trying very hard to find some toilet in the building, so I guess anything can make them enthusiastic. Corinth has two docks, as the sea is on both sides, which means the people put their ships on a kind of ancient train to get from the one to the other side. LOL. Only in the 19th century they managed to create the canal which was planned to be build way earlier. So on our way to Athens, we will go watch the canalJ.
19.10, and we're back in Athens, the canal was quite nice but Athens was spectacular! As it is the 5th of may, another strike and demonstration was in the city. We weren't there but as we walked a few streets to the hotel, every person we came by, stared and yelled at us. Many found it scary and creepy but I thought it was kinda fun. But then again, I'm not easily scared, and are not afraid to hit some peopleJ. Watching the news, we found out it was far worse than Sunday, with fires, teargas, violence and three deaths. Reassuring our parents and now writing, we are almost going to eat, so I must get dressed, well, change my clothes actuallyJ. Hope I can visit the Acropolis tomorrow, as they are occupying it now… But life goes on, and so will our lovely trip! J.
23.15, dinner was real great, well, not bad at least. We had some cheese stuff, and mousaka. I found out that Nikki has a girlfriend in Libanon. She never saw her in real life…. We are allowed to be at other rooms until 23.00, not that we did that, and Marijke and I went to the kind of eating/relaxing room. We found a Dutch library book from Tilburg which has yet to be returnedJ. Tomorrow we will be woken up at 7, and we will eat at 7.45. Was hoping I could go to MSN for a minute this evening, but the computer was occupied and wifi was locked. Not that any people of importance would have mailed me or would be online, but anyhow. Going to quit writing again, and I guess the teachers will check on us every minute, not that we aren't as good as we appear to be, but don't care about that now, and I'm going to sleep after some music listening first. Ciao!
