Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
We drove through Batavia Downs which was a bit more interesting than the PDR having some more turns, dips and holes to manouverure through. This drive north took us longer than expected and this part of the PDR has got some serious corrugations in places particulary on the bends.
Bramwell Station had diesel for $2.10/L the most expensive on the peninsula.
After a change in destination after talking to the ranger we ended up at Gunshot Creek Campground. The camper only had one challenged over a dip that it made contact with a few times. We are the only ones here and there are a group of guys at a few campgrounds down saying they are the only ones too. So the crowds that left Weipa this morning must have bypassed OTT.
We had the joy of watching 2 Polaris vehicles tackle the Gunshot. My heart was pumping for them as they approached the point of no return. They luckily made it no problem. The second vehicle took the track next to it. Still insanely steep but uneven like the previous one. He went down fine too but did smash the side into the wall going down. Only a couple of scratches were the result.
This is a game Zach calls "salt and pepper".
