So after a whole 4 days we are back in Quimper. Feeling a bit defeated having reached P d Raz and started to head East again we have struggled with nothing being open and me with those pesky feet, just blisters thankfully.
We had a really good couple of days walking back from P d Raz, it was almost a home from home with villages like Primelin twinned with Mabe and Point-Croix twinned with Constantine, Gweek and Port Navas. Passing through 16th century farming villages and enjoying bright sunshine and quiet roads. But we had been a bit brazen in just setting off with no proper plan, contacts or route other than 'let's head there'. It's winter and little is open, so after covering the first 70 or so kms we had to come back to the city for some warmth and to make a better plan for the next few days.
In doing so came the lowest point yet when, having resigned ourselves to needing to come back to Quimper, we walked 2 hrs to a train station marked on the map to bring us back, to find that the station no longer functioned and the only way back was by bus from the village we had left 2hrs previously - back we went!
So last night we cheered ourselves up with a motel microwave dinner and bottle of wine, a plan to plan forward today and off again tomorrow. East again and finally away from Quimper, where we have finally got the snow. It had been cold so far but no snow. What idiots would go walking across France in the winter snow anyway!
